Job Summary

Mortenson is hiring a Senior Superintendent I to lead field operations and supervise site teams across multiple projects or large, complex builds.

Project Details

The role calls for experience with solar projects or large industrial power work and may cover multiple complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Direct construction activities, assign tasks, supervise crews, and coordinate materials, equipment, and inspections to support project schedules.
• Partner with project managers on budgets, forecasts, labor, and resources; review construction documents and coordinate plan clarifications with engineers.
• Build and maintain project schedules, three-week lookaheads, site utilization plans, and crew sizes; select formwork systems and equipment.
• Lead preconstruction planning and site meetings, manage logistics, and implement the site safety program.
• Coach and develop field staff, support hiring and performance decisions, and foster teamwork and positive site relationships.

Required Experience

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction, civil or architectural engineering, or construction management, or 10 years of trade experience.
• At least 15 years of construction experience and 10 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience with solar or large industrial power projects and a record of managing multiple complex projects.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, a current driver’s license, and ability to travel up to 100%.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay is $144,300–$216,500, with adjustments for certain office locations. The position is eligible for an incentive plan.
