Job Summary

Adolfson & Peterson Construction is hiring an Austin-based Superintendent to direct field operations and coordinate project delivery with the Project Manager, owner, design team, trade contractors, and suppliers. Assignments are generally under $75 million or may cover designated portions of larger projects.

Project Details

Projects are generally valued below $75 million, with some assignments covering components of larger, complex projects. AP serves commercial and other markets, including education, healthcare, hospitality, industrial, multifamily, municipal, data center, and senior living.

Responsibilities

• Direct onsite construction, safety, schedule, productivity, quality, costs, and trade coordination.
• Maintain project drawings and schedules; coordinate equipment, materials, inspections, and site documentation.
• Implement site safety and quality plans, lead safety meetings, and address hazards and quality issues.
• Coordinate with the owner, design team, Project Manager, and trade contractors throughout construction and closeout.
• Contribute to preconstruction planning, constructability reviews, estimates, project schedules, and procurement.
• Support client development, proposals, and industry relationships.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field with 6+ years of related experience; alternatively, high school diploma or equivalent with 10+ years of related experience.
• Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, P6, MS Project, Excel, and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of building plans and specifications, value engineering, and life-cycle costing; demonstrated ability to lead safety initiatives.
• Current OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain it, along with company safety requirements.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Must be able to travel to project sites and accept long-term out-of-town assignments; role involves physical activity and work in varied climate conditions.

Compensation and Benefits

Estimated pay is $89,600-$143,000. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; HSA and flexible spending accounts; 401(k); paid time off and holidays; tuition assistance; and an employee referral bonus.
