Superintendent

Job Summary

Adolfson & Peterson Construction is seeking a Superintendent to lead field operations and coordinate project teams in Bismarck, North Dakota. The role partners with project managers, owners, design teams, trade contractors, and suppliers to deliver safe, quality work.

Project Details

Assignments generally involve projects under $75 million or designated portions of larger, complex projects. AP serves commercial, education, healthcare, hospitality, industrial, multifamily, municipal, data center, and senior living markets.

Responsibilities

• Direct jobsite operations, safety, productivity, scheduling, quality, and coordination of trade contractors and suppliers.
• Maintain project drawings and schedules; coordinate procurement, inspections, cost controls, and reporting.
• Develop site-specific safety and quality plans, lead safety meetings, and address hazards and quality issues.
• Build effective working relationships with owners, designers, trade contractors, and project teams.
• Contribute to preconstruction planning, constructability reviews, estimating, project closeout, and business development.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field with 6+ years of directly related experience; alternatively, a high school diploma or equivalent with 10+ years of directly related experience.
• Proficiency with construction management tools such as Procore, P6, MS Project, Excel, AutoCAD, and project management software.
• Knowledge of building plans and specifications, value engineering, and life-cycle costing; demonstrated ability to advance safety initiatives.
• Current OSHA 30 or ability to obtain it, along with required company safety training.
• Ability to travel to project sites and accept long-term out-of-town assignments. Forklift certification is preferred.
• Ability to perform physically active work, including occasional lifting or carrying up to 100 pounds and working in varied climate conditions.

Compensation and Benefits

Estimated pay is $89,600-$143,000. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; a health savings account; 401(k); flexible spending accounts; paid time off and holidays; tuition assistance; and an employee referral bonus.
