Superintendent I - Solar Install - Nationwide

Job Summary

Mortenson is hiring a Superintendent I to oversee field teams and construction activities on nationwide solar installation work, with openings at Superintendent I and II levels.

Project Details

The role involves utility and industrial construction projects valued at $500 million or more. Travel is 100%, with five days at home every three weeks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate field crews and project partners, and manage schedules, site logistics, materials, equipment, and inspections.
• Review construction documents, coordinate plans with design engineers, and track progress and task coding.
• Develop team members, lead site meetings, and oversee safety, quality, risk, and compliance.
• Build customer relationships and identify process improvements.

Required Experience

• Superintendent I requires at least five years of construction management or related experience; Superintendent II requires at least eight years.
• Utility or industrial construction experience on projects valued at $500 million or more, including schedule, budget, and crew management.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction, civil or architectural engineering, or construction management, or 10 years of trade experience.
• Current driver’s license and ability to travel up to 100%.
• Ability to manage complex projects from development through closeout, with intermediate Microsoft Office skills and knowledge of construction law and business practices.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary is $111,400–$167,100 for Superintendent I and $130,100–$195,200 for Superintendent II, with location-based adjustments in select cities. The role is eligible for an incentive plan.
