Assistant Construction Manager

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an Assistant Construction Manager to coordinate on-site construction activities, supporting safe, on-schedule, and cost-effective project delivery.

Project Details

The project is located in Harriman, Tennessee, and requires mobilization to the site for its duration. Combined-cycle experience and union or union-management experience are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate subcontractor work, schedule compliance, construction execution, and recovery plans.
• Lead and mentor superintendents; monitor productivity, costs, overtime, and schedule performance.
• Coordinate construction completion walkdowns, startup handover, and punch-list closeout.
• Support client relations, materials and equipment coordination, change management, and project reporting.
• Promote safety and quality, address field issues, and support continuous improvement.

Required Experience

• At least 14 years of construction supervisory experience, including at least 3 years as a construction manager.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or a related field preferred, or relevant field experience.
• OSHA training.
• Knowledge of construction technology, EPC work, project controls, budgets, and construction management systems is preferred.
